Bank reconciliation and financial statements.
The cheapest plans may only report quarterly or once a year, and often leave out GST filing.
Monthly reports, GST filing, more transactions.
Some firms add payroll here.

Transaction volume. More bank and card lines each month means more work to record and reconcile.
Number of accounts. Each bank account, credit card and payment app needs its own reconciliation.
GST filing. Filing quarterly costs more than filing once a year.
Invoices and bills. Managing what clients owe you and what you owe suppliers (full accrual accounting) takes more time than cash-basis books.
Payroll and subcontractors. Pay runs, remittances, T4s and T4As are usually priced separately.
How up to date your books are. Books that are behind need catching up before monthly work can start.
How often you get reports: monthly, quarterly or only at year-end.
Whether GST filing is included, and how often.
Whether software and payroll fees are included or billed separately.
Who actually does your books, and where they’re located.
